I had the glove box taken out so I could install the two defroster vents I got from Eric, so I figured Id do it.

WOW, what a PITA. The passenger side was no big deal, other than I have a cardboard glove box and its got a little dip in it from the hose on top.

The drivers side was a whole different character. Took nearly two hours to get the one out that was in there and replace it with the other one. The screws were put in from the top, guessing it was as the cab was made, cuz theres no way to get em out the top. So I bent the tabs, took out the screws. Find out the vent thats in it has a tab cut to fit. Huuumm, suspicious. Shoulda been a clue.

Once I got the hose on the vent, I spent the rest of the time trying to get one hole lined up for the screw. Hard to do crumpled up under the dash, and only able to get one arm up there at a time. Finally get one screw in, to find out why the tab was cut on the other vent, IT DIDNT FIT, well, neither does this vent. The tabs are too close together to use both holes in the vent. Oh well. I got one screw in and tightened it with lock washers to hopefully hold it in place.

Put the glove box back in, and glued in the sanitary T to split the hoses out of the heater box. Im having a local heating/AC company make a fitting to go from the square outlet on the heater box to the round 1 3/4" hose.

Then I went to the running board brackets. I had bought one from Dan awhile back, it was obvious it was bent so I replaced it. It was perfect, made the drivers rear running board perfectly level. Drivers front was slightly sloped down. Passenger side front and rear running boards were WAAAAY bent down. So I ordered 5 more brackets from Dan.

Put the drivers side on first, now the front slopes down even more. Did the passenger side, and the whole thing slopes down just as much as it did before. So, Im cutting some left over oak from the gates on my trailer to glue to the bottom of the oak running board blocks. Got the drivers side perfect. Work on the passenger tomorrow. Gonna take the four sections to work tomorrow and one of our dozer operators is gonna weld the sections together for me. Then Ill come home and redo the whole process
