I wouldn't turn over the engine. The oil pump may not self-prime and you are dissipating what assembly lubing you did. Somewhere, there is a procedure for priming oil pumps prior to first start.
They used to sell a valve that used engine pressure to drain the oil. Supposedly, you ran the engine until it lost pressure and then shut it off with no damage done. However, some people were not able to get the engine to self-prime when it was re-started.
You could probably rig up a pre-oiling system with a pressure sprayer or a pump, but people don't usually bother if they can't pre-oil the system by spinning the oil pump.
