george. hi. last time i posted about my stewart warner 800 ratio adapter i mentioned that the white / yellow grease had seized and caused a speedo cable inner failure. i replaced the cable not knowing the adapter was siezed and spun the cable again. anyway. i found a gasket for the unit from an outfit in canada. i parts soaked the gears and case and cleaned it up. lubed it with high temp silicone plumbers grease. it all spins nicely. question is, when i spin the square shaft i feel some resistance, not binding. nothing i feel will seize the cable. is this normal? i ran it with a drill at difft speeds and all seems OK. just dont know if some drag spinning by hand is normal. please advise. thanks. mannyc
