Probably the ECU box on the inside drivers front fender. It has lost its ground due to the truck being rusty or its on its way out (also due to being rusty and not having a proper ground). I would check the ECU and make sure its got a ground and or tighten the bolts holding it. Wiggle it around and try and start it. It need to be touching the chassis of the truck to get its ground. Sometimes the bolts get loose and they lose ground or stuff is rusty. If that don't work......
Replace the box. If you can wait order one off ebay and you can find some for cheap. I have had the ecu box act up having start and no start situations. I have also had it lose its ground to chassis and if it has no ground it don't work. I have ran a ground wire from my ecu's to the battery - on all my stuff. They have been know to just fail. Especially the orange box ecu's. One should really carry a spare if they are traveling in an old mopar with electronic ignition.
I wouldn't think it would be the ignition module on the key switch. Generally bulkhead connector problems will be just stone cold dead.
Could be a reluctor in the distributor has gone bad but this is a rare occurance but can sometimes be overlooked.
The engine wire harness can also go bad. I have had to redo mine on my 74 Dodge truck. The insulation on the wires flakes off and you get shorts. Generally when this happens though you get smoke. Usually where the harness makes a turn. I spent an afternoon with my engine harness out of the truck. Took all old electrical tape off and spliced new wires and heat shrink tubing on others to freshen all the wires up.
