I spent a lot of time fiddling with the first one, to make sure nothing could go wrong. Checking this, making sure that is aligned, etc. In the end I think that it is a pretty safe tool. I was fearful of gouging the cylinder, and had read too many internet horror stories about bad reamings.
But, as Vaughn noted, the cutter floats (only while in #3 position), which takes some of the worry out of the concentricity and alignment concerns. Once I came to terms with it, things went very quickly. I was disappointed that I only had six cylinders!
The biggest issue I had was that I set it too deep, so the cutter didn't leave the bore and I had to reset. But this wasn't a real issue since it is pretty easy to setup.
Once the ridge was gone, the pistons nearly popped out by themselves. No resistance.
Thanks again. Moving forward!
