Windshield Frame Repair...

Took my freshly blasted lower windshield frame to a welder today to see if he could rehab it for me. He said no way, said he couldn't get a welder in the channel. Said it would be very expensive if he were to try. Don't think he really wanted to mess with it.

So, if not welding, what does everybody do to fix rust-out in the channel? I have three spots (the worst is the center post channel), the other smaller spots are at the corners. So, Bondo, JB Weld, what????
