Hi Paul:
Yes, there were 3/4 ton military trailers made before WW II, from 1939 to 1940 and perhaps a year earlier. Manufacturers included Lavine, Laverne and Saginaw Gear among others. These smaller trailers tended to be bought and used by the Marines, so today they typically are found along the west coast and not inland where we are. Hopefully a photo of a Lavine 3/4 ton military trailer appears with this post.
