Not sure who was doing the work for them but they were having the Budd centers welded into 17" rims, which IMO would be better as there is a larger selection of tires in 17" any more.
Don't remember how wide they were or what the backspacing was. Most 37" tall 17" tires want at least an 8.5" wide rim and recommend 10".
