The braces have a piviot point right at the attachment point to the windshield frame. The braces slide in and out on the studs which positions the windshield in or out.
Obviously the windshield is rotating on its top hinges. By clamping down on the braces with the wheel nuts the brace will hold the windshield in position. My braces point downward unlike the picture above. I wonder which is correct. Mine were pointing downward when I got it and I believe they were originally that way.
