Hi Joe, I got my computer back yesterday (as you probably noticed by the posts). Fires are pretty much contained to New South Wales and gradually being contained. The Blue Mountains is a huge area and almost inaccessible in 75% of it, so you start to get the idea. The Blue Mountains id part of the Great Dividing Range the stretches about 2000 miles from Victoria in the south, to north Queensland (in the north :-)) and the fires are in a 100 mile section near the middle. We are south of the Divide near the bottom end, so the weather pattern is quite different. It's green, lush, cold and wet (raining) at the moment, but summer is coming. When it arrives, it hits suddenly and temperatures get extreme, that's when we start to worry about fires - they have been close the last few years, hopefully my fuel reduction work lessens the risk to us.
