Loose baffle in WC gas tank, help!

Last night I noticed that driver side upper baffles has come completely loose and is banging around inside the gas tank. Is there any way, short of cutting open a perfectly good tank, to reattach the baffle? I'm thinking about using some super magnets to grab the baffle through the filler neck and sender hole, get the baffle into positing, then drill and pop rivet the baffle into place. Yes, it's a bit of a pain, but the tank is in excellent condition otherwise, and I hate to scrap it needlessly.
