Hi all,
I need a tank for my 41 WC-12 - I currently have an electrical pump and a 1 gal jug on the fender. I would like to improve this.
After reading the archives, I am fine with an electric pump, but I am wondering if I can just get a tank setup from the salvage yard with a pump in the tank and use that, or if there is some complication which won't allow that to work? Do the in-tank fuel pumps work like my firewall mounted one, or would there be external electronics to modulate the thing?
What about the type of vehicle the tank is from. I see that there are tanks for carb's, for fuel injected, internal pump, external, etc. Those with emissions, without, etc.
Do I care very much? Can I plug those which aren't needed (just want filler, vent and out)? Also note that my truck has a dump bed on it, so the filler location isn't critical, primarily the geometry of the tank itself.
Are these real complications, or non-issues?
Any advise appreciated.
Thanks,
don
