I hope they can quickly develop some kind of immunity. I've read that the bee die-offs have been pretty well pinned down to a new class of "safe" insecticides. Seems like people just keep messing things up, even when we try not to.
I still have plenty of bats, and sometimes even have to pick one up and take it out when it tries roosting inside my cabin. I think they roost in the big old hollow cedar snags left over from the 1910 fire, but those snags are all falling over now, and then I wonder what they'll do. I may have to build them a bat house.
