Yea, Have to be careful for sure, it can be dangerous if not operated carefully. That's why I rigged up my set-up with a timer on an electric solenoid valve for safety, so if I forget to keep an eye on things it shuts off the oil automatically, and I don't fill up my ash dump with un-burned oil. I'm toying with the idea of putting a flame sensor or a stack temp sensor on the furnace to shut the oil down if there is no fire. Also, I only drip the oil, it almost vaporizes before it hits the fire as far a I can see once the furnace is hot.
