Spring perches on my 58 W-100

My axle on my 58 W-100 was swapped out for a newer one with wider perches so they are not fitted correctly. Where can I get new perches and does anybody have any advice as to the removal and installation of the new ones?
I thought I would use a mig welder, after grinding the old ones off. I have new U bolts (M-37 NOS) they should work??
