Why do you want this particular 4 spd? Good strong cast iron US made 4 spds are all over the place. I have 2 NP420s and a SM420 in my garage. the SM420's claim to fame is its' 10.5" short length, 7.05:1 1st gear and the fact that it bolts to a Toyota Landcruiser 3 spd bellhousing without ANY modifications. If you end up with a 392 then the gearbox you want is a T34 5 spd, with 5th gear 0.82:1, 1st 6.21:1; very similar to a NP540.
The T19 is what you need if it bolts to an engine you are putting into a vehicle. Otherwise, it's more work than it's worth adapting 4 spds rather than finding the correct one for an application. 5 spds are a different story; they are bigger, rarer and more expensive, especially in overdrive versions.
