question re GM 4.3/5.7 Vortec in B1PW

Has anyone put a late model Vortec 4.3 or 5.7 into a Power Wagon?
I just got a nearly new Vortec 4.3. The left hand manifold outlet looks like it might interfere with the steering box. I'm thinking about flipping and/or switching the manifolds.
The bellhousing is already located on a crossmember between the two factory frame mounts. the only other things I need are an Advance Adapters "universal" saddle mount and a Howell Engineering harness to make the computer happy in an old chassis.
