I went with Stainless ex valves (VPW). I used Lubri Plate #105 motor assembly grease ( not suppose to affect bearing torque settings) on everything including packing oil pump. Get the crank & assemblies balanced. Don't know about civilian rebuild manuals but I used TM 9-1840A to do mine ( Portrayal Press). Make sure you start with 12 clips before you the wrist pins and make sure there's none on the bench when you finished putting piston/rods back in block ( I hate when that happens!!).
