9 volt??? Never heard of a vehicle with a 9 volt system..If anything you would think it would be a 6 or 12 volt system. I remember the '56 I learned to drive on had 12 volts. But my friend has a 56 as well and his is a 6 volt truck.

I am not sure about winch...IHC trucks of this vintage are rare enuff...Expecially 4X4...I could direct you to people who could answer your questions better than me...
