I removed the steering off a 68 dodge and took the mechanism off(one screw) and cut several inches of the wire . The one screw acts as a wedge to keep it tied to your column . I took my new turn signal device over to my 59 D100 and noticed that the wires were the same color . Grabbed a handful of butt connectors and my wire pliers and "poof" had a modern turn signal cancelling device . Don't forget to change places with the accuator that is on the bottom of the steering wheel .Let me know how it turns out cause mine works great .
