hard to turn

I just finished reassembling my single speed transfer case for my WC 12. Set the thrust to .002 for the intermediate shaft as recommended. When I put on the three sleeved drive line flanges they are extremely tight and hard turn by hand. They have been sleeved since they were scored. I imagine they are tight because of the new rubber seals? Is this normal?
