I just did a Carter E7T2 and there is also an internal setting on how far the accelerator pump moves. You need to bend the rod which the linkage attaches to. For my carb is was 3/8" (I think). I needed to also bend the external link, because it was moving 3/4".
The 3/8 is the distance that that top of the plunger moves when the arm goes up - the first part of the travel does not move the pump, then it carries it up.
(Note that the above is information from someone who has only done this once, and should be taken that way). There is a video on how to set the adjustment on youtube from mikes carburators.
