I recently discovered that I have 160 gallons of Y2K gas sitting in the shed at the farm....I never realized that pops didn't start using it after planes didn't fall out of the sky and the world didn't crack in half.
I have a 6.2 diesel going into the rock crawler and an SD22 NIssan engine slated for the little Hardbody truck I picked up recently so my brain got to twisting....
Im thinking 20% of this old gas blended with 20-30% waste motor oil, then fresh clean diesel. Pump the whole mess through 50-10-5 micron filters...burn in 6.2...if it works well, burn in the SD22 as well.
Anyone done anything like this before? I have discovered whole forums on people using WMO as a fuel with as much success as WVO...once again filtering being the key. As far as the gas goes, Dad has talked about running really old stale gas in the old multi fuel engines and I have heard several different stories of people running really old stale gas through these 6.2 motors with no ill affect (im sure not for any duration in high concentrations).
I have about 30 gal of WMO on hand and when we change all of the oil in everything, its over 10 gal a pop. With this quantity, I'd just as soon burn it to move something around than burn trash with it and Im no tree hugger, but my drinking water does come straight out of the ground so I'm sure not going to dump it. What do you think?
