Im no expert but seems you could go to a spring in axle shop and shop and come up with a more forgiving setup. I know legacy power wagons retain the original power wagon suspension design but use a different kind of spring pack, supposedly it rides quite impressively. Also i have heard the reason FFPW ride so rough is because the shackels are in the front and all the energy is absorbed with the wheels going forward instead of back maybe you could do something to redesign that. Like i said im no expert so take it for what its worth.
