Regruvable tires ?

Years ago pops had this drill looking like tool at the end of the tool was knife.the knife was heated by electricity.The different knives were to fit different groves in tires.The heated element allowed the knife to cut right through the rubber. If you followed the oringinal groves in the tire about a half hour later it looked like a new tire.I was wonderin the power wogon here has those miltary tires that are often talked about on this site.They are 40 tread left could I regruve them. junoir copey
