The Peterson Auto Museum in Los Angeles is being investigated by the State Attorney General's office after it began selling off part of its collection.
Many of the cars were donated by individuals or organizations for the benefit of the public. Now, Peterson is selling the cars to further the personal interests of new board members in motorcycles and French art deco cars. The museum was originally envisioned as a celebration of the car culture in Southern California.
One hundred and six more cars are scheduled to be sold from the collection. If you donate a vehicle to a museum, make sure you know what will eventually happen to it.
