Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good. Not knowing what shape your sheet metal is in it's hard to say if this price is out of line. I have a 57 PG in my shop right now that didn't look to bad. 174 manhours later it looks much better. Painting is expensive no matter how you look at it. The prep, priming and blocking is the real cost in a paint job. Before I had my own booth and knew base coat clear coat I had Maaco paint a truck. I had all the bodywork done so all it needed was painting. It still cost $3000 for a good paint job.
