Jerry, All snow is gone. Its getting terrible hot, so far its gotten up to 89 which is a killer for us used to cool temps. In two and a half months, we should have the first dusting of snow.

I am trying Jerry, but its a up hill fight. I found those Saab Platform motors which were ideal...except for a non adjustable 179 degree sweep, very expensive and no longer available LOL.

Our problem is sweep, size of motor, ability to handle ice/snow/slush, all the stuff us northern guys know about.

As I posted a while back, I felt that the Imported Ford Transit Connect Van, with Van Doors, is a possible super candidate. The glass in the doors is small, the wipers sweep appear to be within reason for a PW/WC, and they are small enough to fit the shallow depth of the Van type door.

I recently was at a Ford dealer here in the Mountains for a 4 wheel alignment on my car. I was killing time walking around all the new cars/trucks. After I passed a $65,000.00, F350 Diesel Pickup, almost choked, Then I saw a new Transit Connect Van. It was dirty and you could see the sweep of the wipers on the dirty windows. It looked perfect. I looked inside, but the motors are inside the door and a screw on panel covered them. I explained to the Service Manager, my quest for wipers for our trucks and asked him if he would unscrew the 6 screws on the panel so I could measure the motor. His reply " Your joking...right" So no motor measurement. The other issue I for-see is the cost of buying replacement motors from Ford Parts..ouch.

Go to GOOGLE IMAGES. Search for " Ford Transit Connect Back " this will give you a idea of the small window and sweep.

We need to find a motor that will handle the northern winters, yet is almost plug and play with out the need to drill new holes thru the cab valance area. And one that even a non-fab person can easily install.

I am getting a headache over these wipers ha ha ha ha

Paul
