After a complete brake job earlier on, the brakes on my WDX have been working as perfectly as can be expected of them. Recently I had the tires removed from the factory rims and sent the rims in for powder coating. When they came back, the tire shop re-mounted the tires and balanced them. After re-mounting the tire/rim assembly to my truck, the brakes immediately started acting weird. There was a pulsing sensation in the pedal as I came to a stop. If this had been there before, I would have imagined it was due to out of round drums. Further examination determined that the tire shop used glue-on weights instead of the clamp-on style. Since the drums and rims are neither perfectly round, there were times when braking caused the weights to contact the inside of the drum, and caused the pulsing. I took them back and they balanced them with the clamp-on style, problem solved. JH
