Love my PW, but the Dussenberg like you say would enable us to buy a number of Power Wagons.
My first car was a 49 Packard that I restored after buying it for $200. The junkyard where I got my parts had a 48 Packard limousine that if found today would be quite the find as it looked in almost good as shape as mine.
I probably could have bought it for $500. But, one Packard for a 16-yr old was enough according to my dad. The limo had similar items to the Dussenberg: window between the front and rear seats, jump seats facing rearward and unbelievable fabric and real wood. It was not close to being such a classic as the Dussenberg, but I saw a restored one on a web site recently and asking price was $160,000..
What a shame that it eventually was crushed like so many others like it. Them were the good old days.
Thanks for the compliment on my truck.
