This guy was essentially given a Chevrolet dealership by his uncle. Rather than growing it, he treated it as a hobby turning it into a mom and pop business. For 50 years, he ran the business with the help of his wife and the same mechanic.
He took in hundreds of used vehicles and stored them in a field, where they sat for decades. What do you think a 60's vehicle is worth after sitting in a field for 50 years.
Then, apparently through neglect, he lost the franchise rather than selling it or leaving it to his heirs.
I'm glad some of the unsold vehicles were stored inside and will be available to collectors. Hopefully, he will get a good amount of money, but I believe the average value per vehicle will be very low because of the way most were stored.
I'm not knocking the guy. It was his money and his life. He can do what he wants. Maybe, he is happy with the way things turned out, pack rats and hoarders often have a different way of looking at things. I'm just saying, he wasn't much of a businessman. Maybe, he didn't want to be.
