Sounds like it could be the starter solenoid on the drivers inside front fender. You can jump the 2 big battery terminals on the relay with a screw driver and if the starter turns over its the relay or it could be the neutral safety switch on the transmission if its an automatic. You can ground the pin on the relay for the N safety switch and see if it starts with the key.
