Yes, that's the rumor, but nobody seems to be able to tell me what's so "nasty" about it. The closest I've come is that it contains old-school pigments containing toxic metals. I suspect that it's no "nastier" than any commercial automotive paint of its time (1970s). Sure, you don't want to put it in your coffee, and you probably don't want to breathe a big cloud of dust from sanding it either, but isn't that just common sense? If I found some CARC somewhere that was still in usable condition, I wouldn't have any qualms about using it. Mostly, I like the fact that the color doesn't fade, unlike everything else I've tried.
