I wonder if If I could hammer one out for less than building a gas tank? Cold rollerd steel. thicker than OE for longevity as well as workability. Make body with seam/ribs for mounting(?), hammer out two end caps, tig together. Grind sand bond prime. Two day's work ? Wouldn't fool Eric.

Same cap as the radiator? I think I have one capseat on an old rad- to save for mine.
