W300 LU2 removal

Any tips for taking out the LU2 winch? Should I be disconnecting all the bearing carriers for the winch drive shaft?

Just taking out whatever was in the hole where the shear pin usually goes, I had water dripping out of the case, so its a good bet the winch needs some service.
