Not suggesting we take away guns from anybody or try to keep "normal" people from getting guns. If your idea of having fun is unloading a 40 round clip into a watermelon, that is up to you.
It's just that, as far as I know, every one of the assault rifle mass killers had a very troubled background with manifested psychiatric problems. Requiring a background check for a gun show purchase of an assault rifle is not unreasonable.
Also, I think if you collect Lord of the Rings swords or Star Wars replica weapons, you should be barred from buying an assault weapon :)
