Polish the contacts on both sides of the ground strap. Next polish the connectors on both ends of the cable going to the starter. Clean the inside of the starter switch. Maybe even open the starter and clean all the grime out of there too. Sounds like you have poor connections with high resistance. Increased temperature also increases resistance which increases the power consumed in the wire before it gets to the intended load. Consider really large new cables for ground strap and cable to starter, like 3/0.
