First I will state that I am a GM fan as well as a Dodge fan , any domestic except Ford!
While GM was making mistakes in the late late 70's and 80's Dodge was heading for disaster by making lackluster uninspired cars ( at least GM was trying new things ) Dodge would probally not exist today if not for the work of Iacocca ( once again they made truly lackluster cars to save its self ) Dodge of the early seventies and earlier made wonderful products and do today . In the seventies and eighties GM did have its share of problems but it did something right it did not need to be saved that cannot be said for Dodge . The reality is that they all have their good points and bad - even Ford I guess, usually a less biased picture will give a better idea of how things really are or were.
All the best.
