Educate a dummy -- need help and clarification

On the M-35 1951 I have a switch plate

the plate has off
b.o.mariner stoplight
b.o. drive ser dirve

panel bat unlock
dim lock
off
park

if you could let me know what each of these are for it would be most helpful --I could make an educated guess on a few
also the 4x4 shift levers how do they work

one is up front the other is all the way back
you can move the back one up and you can
bring the front one back thanks for the help in advance
