Hi Galen,
You're right about the sandblasting, sand should NEVER be used on sheetmetal. You lose too much metal as well as take a chance on warping. However other medias work great, poly and glass beads will do the job and shops out here in SoCal charge about $350 for the whole truck. (pickups)
