We've had more than 1/2 of the exhaust manifolds on the Danish WM300s we brought in crack. Always in the same place you mention.
One thing to be sure of is to have the special tapered exhaust manifold nuts and washers. These allow for expansion and contraction of the manifold and with regular nuts they are just about assured to crack.
If you separate, replace or reinstall either
manifold make sure you have it checked for true and surface as neccessary.Constant heat
has a tendency to make them warp.
The fact that the manifold is so long doesn't help either.
Intake manifolds crack too as the area in the 4 corners around the mounting bolts to the exhaust manifold are built to thin and the corners simply chip off. We have all of this
stuff in our inventory NOS or new if you need it.
