W200 DISK BRAKE QUESTION??

I need to replace a front rotor. Can the rotor be removed seperate from the hub or does this need to be done as an assembly? When checking on parts it showed that the rotor could be bought separate or the rotor/hub could be bought as a single unit. I want to change out which ever is easiest. Any info would be appreciated.
