Windshield Question

I managed to finish up the windshield mechanism and it's working pretty well. Someone asked for a pic of the mechanism which is (hopefully) attached.

Now for the question, the windshield frame I have is not original, and it doesn't touch the cab opening in the middle. Is it supposed to? I think this one might have been tweaked or something as part of the frame seems a little off, but I'm not sure if this is part of that or not. I have maybe 1/2" or so gap in the middle top and bottom.
