Got it going, not sure what was wrong. Got it onto a flat spot and jumped to a strong battery and after a few tries it started. After it was warmed up and tried to go, it stalled again, and even though it cranked, it wouldn't start until I jumped the strong battery back onto it. I'm thinking part of my problem is the ignition system is weak. Maybe I should find an ignition diagnostic oscilloscope somewhere. What do you think, Kaegi?
But it's weird that it stalled out the first time when I backed it up the cut bank as far as it would go. That makes me think there's something wrong in the carb. Going backward should not flood it (didn't the old jeeps have a problem with flooding on steep hills?) but maybe it does something else that it doesn't like. It's not the military carburetor. I'd have to look and see which one it is. It seems like every one of my 230s has a different carb.
