spur gear question again

Putting the new bearings in the transmission, and the one for the input shaft in the kit I got is a sealed type, original is open, and allows oil flow.I am afraid flow thru the bearing will be no good with the new bearing. What is the consensus on this? Can I remove the seal ring? don't worry? get open bearing? Kit came from Vintage. John
