Good thing you were quick. If it's heavy and I'm under it, I want it blocked up on wood cribbing, 6x6s stacked crosswise on top of each other, or BIG wood rounds (larger diameter than they are tall) stood on end. Wood will crush slowly if overloaded, whereas welds will break suddenly and steel will bend pretty fast too.
