Torch buggy dreaming - pics and ideas?

I need a platform at my place to carry a generator, torch, air, and tools. I've got a WWII trackson crane on a chev c-60 truck, but it's not agile...at all.
The buggy just needs to be heavy enough to have 1k lb lift of some sort on back, maybe an A-frame, or a rotating boom off a manlift. I have some donors to choose from - leaning towards a 1/2 ton WC chassis.
I used to see Junkers made out of all kinds of rigs pulling parts in the junkyards, everything from chopped up datsuns to tracked cranes, and a few PWs and military Dodges. Usually with mongrel sheet metal.
Found some old wrecker pics online and a bunch of rat-rod fetish tow trucks, but I didn't see any old school junkyard torch buggies.
