I went out to my shop and tried out several of the starter/manifold wrenches I have. There are numerous different shapes, but the one that worked best was the Herbrand 1940. The deeper bend of the wrench gets around the starter better on the 230 engine. I have the fenders off on the truck, so no bending over the fenders.
I did an internet search and found a site on which someone has cataloged various Herbrand tools. The were (are?) a specialty tool maker. It's interesting the someone would go to the effort to catalog these tools. Some people will collect anything. I just don't understand it ;)
There's a good photo of the Herbrand 1940 to compare with other starter/manifold wrenches.
