When a Diamond T rolled off the assembly line with a pickup bed, the VIN plate identified a different chassis weight.
A cab and chassis weighed 2,930 lbs.
A pickup weighed 4,000 lbs.
The factory pickup bed weighs 1,000 lbs-made of 11 guage ( 1/8" thick) steel plate. The bed sides and floor are flat steel plate, no wood, no corregated sheetmetal.
