If you were paying attention to David Sherman, he was correct stating that the threads of the brass fitting, INTO the cast iron of the MC are NPT, ie, national pipe thread, a tapered thread that DOES need pipe dope or whatever your favorite name for thread sealant is. The flared connections do NOT use any gooy sealant.
There are a lot of very knowledgable people on this forum, very willing to help but if you ask the same question several times, and ignore their advice they will be less willing to answer your questions in the future.
